Silicon for athletes: muscle recovery, tendinitis, and post-workout.

How organic silicon speeds up muscle recovery, repairs microtrauma in connective tissue, and reduces the feeling of post-workout overload. A cofactor in the synthesis of type I collagen and proteoglycans — the network that intensely worked muscles need to rebuild between sessions. WADA compatible. EFSA Novel Food approved.

01 · Anatomy of Microtrauma

Every session leaves Invisible microdamage. Recovery is done using raw material.

Every session breaks down myofibrils and tendon collagen fibers. Your body repairs them — if it has the raw materials. Organic silicon is one of the most critical structural cofactors for tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue. And after 23 years of continuous use (Geusens et al, 2017 · Boqué et al, 2021 · Petersen Vitello, 2018), it remains legal in competition.

Athlete Anatomy

It’s not just muscle: 86% is connective tissue

Tendons, ligaments, and muscle fascia are almost pure collagen. What usually limits an athlete's recovery is NOT the muscle — it's the connective structures that support it. And those depend on silicon.

Where organic silicon works

The 4 Phases of Post-Impact Recovery

From the micro-tear to the Strengthened fiber

0-24hPhase 1
Acute inflammation

Edema, warmth, microhemorrhage. The body clears the damage and prepares the ground.

1-3dPhase 2
Proliferation

The fibroblasts arrive and produce new collagen. Here comes silicon.

4-7dPhase 3
Remodeling

The new collagen aligns with the mechanical force. The fiber reorganizes.

8-21dPhase 4
Strengthening

New fabric stronger than the previous one — if the raw material was available.

The difference between recovering and overtraining It’s not about how much you train — it’s about how much structural material you have available when it’s time to repair.

→ tendon · collagen I

Repair of tendon and ligament

El tendon is ~80% type I collagen. Silicon is a cofactor for the enzymes that assemble that collagen — a critical material after microtears.

muscle fascia

The integrity of muscle connective tissue

The fascia, the epimysium, and the perimysium are collagen and elastin networks the tissues that surround the muscle. Silicon maintains its elasticity and strength.

→ articulation

Low-impact joint support

The impact of sports puts pressure on the knee, ankle, and shoulder. Silicon strengthens the cartilaginous matrix that cushions and protects the joint.

+ recovery · WADA-compliant

Critical post-workout window

The first 24-72 hours are when fibroblasts require raw material. Keeping silicon circulating during that physiological window facilitates repair.

05 · What we're asked most often

Frequently asked questions about Silicon and Joints.

01How soon do I recover between sessions?+

The athletes who consistently take organic silicon report a 30–40% reduction in the feeling of muscle fatigue between workouts after 4-6 weeks. Silicon helps repair micro muscle injuries and regenerate connective tissue (tendon, fascia, ligament). It is not a stimulant: it is structural. It is more noticeable in impact sports, endurance, and cross-training where tissue damage is chronic.

02Does it work for tendinitis, overuse, and chronic impact pain?+

Yes, like Structural support. Chronic tendinitis and overuse involve deterioration of the tendon’s collagen matrix. Organic silicon provides the cofactor needed to rebuild that matrix. It is not an anti-inflammatory — it works at a deeper level, repairing the tissue. In chronic tendinopathies, results can be seen from the second month of use when combined with active rest. Does not replace physiotherapy or medical diagnosis.

03Can I combine it with magnesium, creatine, or BCAAs?+

Yes, documented synergy with zinc (muscle contraction/relaxation), BCAAs and protein (muscle synthesis) and Vitamin C (collagen hydroxylation). Creatine acts through another pathway (energy-related) and can be combined without any problems. Just separate it from medications by 1 hour so as not to interfere with absorption.

04Before training (prevention) or after (recovery)?+

The ideal is Daily stable intake, not occasionally. Silicon is incorporated through accumulation in the tissue, not through isolated doses. Recommended guidelines: 15 ml on an empty stomach (G7 Original or Sport Recovery liquid) or 2 capsules with the first meal (G7 Activ+). Topical application (Sport Recovery cream or G7 Gel) after the effort apply to the sore area: cooling effect + local repair in 5-15 minutes.

05What is the difference between silicon and hydrolyzed collagen for athletes?+

The hydrolyzed collagen provides peptides that the body reuses to synthesize its own collagen. Organic silicon The cofactor that activates the enzymes that assemble those fibers is silicon. Without silicon, there is no efficient collagen synthesis, no matter how many peptides you take. They complement each other — they are different pieces of the same puzzle.

06Is there a risk of testing positive on a doping control?+

No. Organic silicon it is not listed on the WADA prohibited substances list (World Anti-Doping Agency). It is a natural mineral, not a stimulant or an anabolic. The Silicium G7® formula complies EFSA Novel Food (EU Regulation 2017/2470), pharmaceutical GMP and batch traceability. If you compete at the federation level, always consult your sports doctor, but organic silicon poses no regulatory risk.
